In sourcing the best gin botanicals, Starspice maintains partnership as its core value with both our customers and our supply chain partners. it is Starspice’s unique understanding and respect for provenance terroir, ethos at origin and specialised gin botanical product knowledge, combined with a keen and thorough appreciation of customer requirements, that makes the Starspice difference.

Our specialism is Gin botanicals, although our ingredients are used for a wide range of food and drink applications including rums, vermouths, no/low alcohol drinks, craft beer, cider vinegar and sausages! But by far and away most of our time is spent sourcing and supplying the very best gin botanicals to make the world’s best gins. Our juniper berries come from across the traditional regions including Italy, North Macedonia, Serbia and Bosnia, whilst also obtaining Croatian and Kosovan juniper berries for particular customers to suit their demands. We have long standing growers of Coriander Seeds in Romania annually proven to be suited to gin, and work directly with family farmers to import their proudly grown Angelica Roots from Belgium alongside supplies from Poland and Germany. We often have botanicals harvested and produced directly for us against our own specifications, such as orris root powder from Morocco and Italy, and citrus from Spain and Italy, often specifying smaller bulk pack sizes to aid small and medium sized distillers and to lessen the need for lifting 25kg every time.

We understand flavour, and in particular how botanicals are used in distilled gin, spirits or other drinks. From our longstanding supply base around Europe and Asia, we continue to supply a wide range of distilleries around the world from the biggest to the smallest (currently our longest standing small customer is Darwin Distillers in the Falkland Islands) who are treated with no less importance. We frequently work with customers confidentially on liquid development and NPD, often suggesting and assisting with new concepts to add value to brands and pricing. With a strong knowledge of the gin production process, we also work closely with a number of contract distillers as they develop recipes for customers from trial through to production, helping to ensure supplies are chosen that are sustainable and scalable, as well as providing distinct points of difference. 

Behind us is the complicated world of supply chain and logistics, which we manage for our customers allowing them just to anticipate the arrival of the next delivery of fragrant gin botanicals ready to make the best drinks in the world.
